Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute is an independent, internationally renowned medical research facility, with a history spanning more than 95 years. The Institute’s work extends from the laboratory to wide-scale community studies with a focus on diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The Baker Institute is the nation’s first muti-disciplinary organisation tackling the deadly trio of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease through research, education and patient care.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Community and Corporate Relations (CCR), the General Manager, Philanthropy will lead a high performing team and ensure best practice relationship fundraising to achieve revenue targets for the major donor program. Responsibilities include strategic program planning, analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, developing donor case for support and ensuring excellent prospecting, cultivation, asking, stewardship and recognition strategies.
The General Manager, Philanthropy will be the internal lead for the transformational and major gifts strategy, developing strategies to sustain income from HNWI, trusts and foundations and seeking opportunities for program growth including increased revenue from the mid-value donor pipeline. You will report on financial performance against targets and non- financial in retention and acquisition. Mentoring and leading the philanthropy team to achieve targets and manage caseload will be essential to success, along with ensuring systems, moves management protocols and governance over donor gift attributions and recognition.
