Our client is a large international non-government organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable children and adults lead full lives. They work with vulnerable communities at the grassroots level, empowering them with knowledge, skills and resources.

The Role

The Head of Individual Philanthropy will lead and manage the individual philanthropy program, focusing on creating and executing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors. This includes providing innovative leadership, management, support and strategic direction to the Individual Philanthropy Team in identifying and creating opportunities with existing and new donors.

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with major donors through personalised engagement and meaningful recognition. Another key focus is engaging donors in conversations around planned giving to secure long-term financial support. The position also involves working collaboratively across departments and using data and analytics to monitor donor engagement and evaluate fundraising performance.

About YOU

• An accomplished leader with a wealth of experience in the strategic development and management of philanthropic programs and the teams that support these initiatives
• Strong experience in major donor portfolio management, developing and implementing moves management approaches and relationship management disciplines
• Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and empowering a diverse, high-performing team of philanthropy professional
• Experience in liaising with senior management and decision makers
• Ability to create and implement long term fundraising strategies
• Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding financial targets through strong stewardship plus attracting new philanthropic donors
• Broad knowledge of best practice major donor relationship management and the philanthropic landscape in Australia
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE or membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia is highly regarded.
