With the community, we achieve outstanding animal welfare through education, advocacy, and animal care and protection.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising & Communications, the Senior Manager, Communications will spearhead the development and implementation of a visionary, integrated media and communications strategy that enhances RSPCA’s profile across Victoria and nationally. Additionally, they will help shape strategic direction across Digital, Marketing, Media and Brand to ensure consistency of visual identity, messaging and tone across the organisation.

This role will also lead a high performing team of communications and media professionals, overseeing all internal and external communication, media, public relations, crisis/issues management, thought leadership and corporate affairs matters.

About YOU​

• A seasoned communications professional with at least 3-5 years leading a Comms/Media/Corporate Affairs function in a complex, issues-rich environment
• Deep knowledge in designing and implementing best practice digital communications across a range of platforms to support marketing, fundraising and communications needs
• Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with a reputation as a trusted advisor to high-level stakeholders including CEOs and senior executives
• Experience in leading, mentoring and empowering a diverse, high-performing team of communications professionals
• Demonstrated experience and an evidence-based approach in building policies and processes to drive impact, evaluation and prudent risk management when managing media, communication issues and reputational risks
• Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, media, journalism or a related discipline.
