For over 100 years The Leprosy Mission Australia has partnered with Australians to ensure that people affected by leprosy across the world get the cure, care, and restoration they need to live life in all its fullness. As part of a global network comprised of 30 Members, they are working together to reach their goal of Zero Leprosy transmission by 2035.

The Leprosy Mission extends the hand of ‘mateship’ to those affected by Leprosy, disability and other marginalised people. Their supported programs are on the ground in India, Nepal, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Timor Leste.

​The newly created Trusts & Foundations Manager role will drive the development of the Trusts & Foundations funding stream. You will set the direction and priorities and be the primary manager of most key relationships with Australian Trusts & Foundations. You will play a key role in securing sustainable funding to support programs that aim to end leprosy, empower affected communities, and drive social change.

Reporting to and working closely with the Strategic Relationships Lead, you will:

  • Develop and implement a trusts & foundations funding strategy.
  • Identify, research, and engage with trusts & foundations, PAFs, and PuAFs that focus on overseas aid & development, health, WASH, and social enterprise.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Manage ongoing relationships and ensure timely acquittal reporting.
  • Collaborate with international agencies of The Leprosy Mission on large-scale funding applications.

Trusts & Foundations are a pivotal growth area for the organisation, with significant potential to expand and establish long-term, multi-year funding partnerships. In addition to the above you will work with the Strategic Relationships Lead to lead the global network in pursuing proposals to large International Foundations to support the work of The Leprosy Mission Australia and other Global Members.

About YOU

  • Ability to operate within the Christian based vision, mission and values of The Leprosy Mission Australia.
  • At least five years’ experience working in a Trusts & Foundations or Major Donor position or equivalent business development experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to connect and influence a large and diverse group of people and can build and maintain long-term meaningful professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful grant writing and securing significant funding.
  • Excellent presentation skills; able to share information and ideas effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of prospect research, donor screening and major donor models.
  • Ability to confidently and effectively leverage digital tools, platforms, and systems to achieve objectives, along with a willingness to adapt to new technologies and optimise processes through digital solutions.
  • You are results-oriented, innovative and proactive, taking initiative without prompting.
