About you

As our Head of Continuous Professional Development (CPD), you’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively with stakeholders, allowing you to successfully lead, develop and manage the RACGP’s CPD team. You’ll draw upon your experience in education development and delivery to implement strategic and operational plans to ensure there is effective delivery of a high quality national CPD Program. To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

  • demonstrated strategic experience with the development of systems and best practice approaches to CPD activities.
  • outstanding leadership skills with extensive experience with fostering a culture of innovation, high performance, and continuous improvement
  • experience reviewing procedures in order to develop improved administration of a CPD Program and creating and maintaining a sound quality assurance framework
  • proven high level organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and schedule work of self and others to meet deadlines
  • high degree of communication skills, both written and oral incorporating customer service principles

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Education Officer, you’ll work closely with the CPD team to provide engaging leadership, staff development, outcome achievement, strategic and operational management. You’ll engage with the healthcare industry and a broad range of stakeholders to satisfy ongoing professional development for RACGP members’ CPD education requirements. In addition, you’ll:

  • Ensure the RACGP CPD program aligns with and meets the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) standards for Australian Medical Council (AMC) accreditation as a CPD home.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the CPD strategic and operational objectives and ensure that resources are aligned to achieve CPD goals.
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate a contemporary, competitive, attractive CPD program that serves the ongoing professional development needs of GPs and other doctors who choose RACGP as their CPD home.
  • Ensure CPD program aligns with the RACGP Educational Framework, Curriculum, Profile of a GP and CPD Education standards to ensure current best practice and cohesion across all education programs to support lifelong learning.
