Position Summary
Assist to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families a coordinated mix of services to address multiple levels of need, and to build family and community capacity to safely care for and protect vulnerable children. Functional accountabilities of this role include: General administrative duties including but not limited to: Reception duties, answering the telephone and taking accurate messages, organising appointments and managing booking systems, following up on team requests, data collection, storage and records management and general administration duties.
About you
- Certificate III in Business/Administration or progression toward, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrated communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the position.
- Strong administrative skills, including demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining effective administration systems.
- Demonstrate a high level of practical skills and experience in computing including, Microsoft Office, Excel and other software and data programs.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure of completing demands on your time, to efficiently meet deadlines to complete tasks required of you in an administration position.
- Demonstrate ability to liaise and network with a range of stakeholders as well as effectively advocate for and articulate the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families.
- Current C Class Driver’s License (QLD) – essential.
- Satisfactory police check – no serious Criminal/Court record.
- Current Blue Card (working with children and young people) or willingness to apply.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including the requirement to travel, work and stay overnight for up to several days at a time in remote areas.
- Willingness to travel by road and small plane.
