THE OPPORTUNITY

The Marketing and Communications team is a service provider to the entire Institute. We provide crucial support to helping teams within the Foundation to achieve their supporter acquisition, engagement, retention and conversion objectives and income targets. We support laboratories and executive and professional teams outside the Foundation with marketing needs.

Sitting within the Marketing and Communications team, the Digital Marketing Specialist will play an important role in developing, executing, and optimising digital marketing strategies, particularly focusing on digital fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the fundraising teams. The role will also be responsible for analysing data to make data-driven decisions, and staying up to date with the latest digital marketing trends, and managing the website.

Salary: $85,000 + 11% super + salary packaging

Employment Type: Full time permanent

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Digital Marketing Specialist will play an important role in enhancing and building the digital marketing campaign capabilities for the Foundation and manage the website.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Advise, implement and manage best practice digital campaigns that improve user engagement and increase fundraising revenue, including lead generation and conversion.
  • Be a key partner in mapping and implementing user journeys for new and existing donors across digital channels for a seamless experience.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the Foundation to develop and produce engaging data-driven campaign collateral, including but not limited to website landing pages, EDMs and Google Adwords.
  • Be a stellar copywriter, generating engaging campaign copy and key messages for digital channels.
  • Collaborate with content creators in the MarComms team to develop compelling graphics, videos, and other content for campaign landing pages and new website pages that drive donations and generate engagement and leads.
  • Oversee digital campaign tracking for accurate metrics, and monitor and analyse campaign performance using analytics tools (GA4) to make data-driven recommendations for optimisation.
  • Knowledge of best practice in SEO and SEM, working with Garvan's key stakeholders to optimise website content for best practice website functionality and design.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager and Digital Fundraising Lead to build out multi-year digital campaign strategies.
  • Manage, maintain and improve the Garvan website, including working with stakeholders to upload and update content via our CMS, ensuring an optimum user experience.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications or related discipline.

The key skills and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications, or in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a digital marketing or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a website and content uploading.
  • Strong experience with digital reporting tools such as Google Analytics 4.
  • Experience with search advertising, campaign management and UX principles.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to be a flexible team player while also being able to work independently.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and eye for detail.
  • Experience in non-profit organisations and interest or experience in medical research would be advantageous.
