  • Specialist Family Violence Service - Crisis Accommodation and Case Management.
  • Part-Time 0.6 to 0.8 FTE negotiable – some on call hours required (minimal).
  • SCHADS level 5 + Salary Packaging options and above Award Enterprise Agreement conditions

GMI have recently transitioned from a communal model to newly developed Core and Cluster model (one of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence), with new purpose-built facilities.

The role of the Case Manager is to provide family violence risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and holistic case management support to victim/survivors (inc. children and young people) of family violence.

As a Case Manager and part of the GMI team you can make a difference supporting our clients to achieve positive outcomes.

The key selection criteria (KSC) for our next case manager will be:

  • Qualifications in Social Work or a related Social Science discipline, or
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience
  • A willingness to engage in a professional development plan to meet the minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioner (further details in Position Description).
  • An understanding of the issues involved in working with women and children from multicultural backgrounds, including intersectional factors impacting women and children affected by family violence
  • Understanding of contemporary family violence practice including the gendered nature of violence, social justice principles, crisis intervention and working with trauma
  • Demonstrated understanding of Multi Agency Risk Assessment (MARAM) Framework and its application in the context of crisis services, or the willingness to undergo training at commencement of employment
  • Resilience, a flexible and positive approach to your work and self-care practices in place
