ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Part time (0.4 FTE) ~ until 30 June 2025
  • Hybrid – Abbotsford / Working from home
  • SCHADS Level 4 $31,672.80 (FTE ~ $79,182.45) per year, plus super & salary packaging

Be part of a small team responsible for the preservation, management, and storage of the records of Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and the Sisters of Good Shepherd. This role includes appraisal and transfer of records into the archive, and carrying out day-to-day workflows related to the access, storage and preservation of historical archival materials. Materials include documents, photographs, videos, books, newspapers, ephemera, and artworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to and coordinating requests for information from internal and external stakeholders, including complex legal and redress enquiries as required.
  • Processing, sorting and cataloguing records, including adding descriptive metadata.
  • Ensure records are appraised, stored, listed, and described on the Archives Holdings Database.
  • Maintain and update Finding Aid folders.
  • Assisting in record searching for civil, legal and redress claims which may be related to historic experiences of harm to children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ensure delicate and aged materials are maintained and preserved in accordance with established archival preservation procedures.
  • Liaise with offsite storage companies and assist employees requesting and sending records to offsite store.
  • Undertaking copying or digitising of requested material as required.

ABOUT YOU

  • Qualifications in archives and records management/ information management or a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (if you have resided outside of Australia within the last 5 years)
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or state equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and provide evidence of vaccinations against COVID19.
