Role Purpose

The Lived Experience (LE) Engagement and Inclusion lead will support the Manager and General Manager of Lived Experience and Co-Production to implement the Lived Experience Framework, including supporting organisational readiness, developing and guiding ethical practice and procedures for engagement across service design and delivery, evaluation, communications/media, policy and advocacy. The LE Engagement and Inclusion Lead will be the primary point of contact for Good Shepherd’s support to lived experience participants, and responsible for keeping Good Shepherd’s Lived Experience Platforms and communications up to date. This role is crucial in fostering a trauma-informed, inclusive, and safer environment, ensuring that lived expertise is central to Good Shepherd’s Australia New Zealand's work to deliver on its Mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading organisational readiness to engage and work with lived experience, including development and provision of multi-channel awareness raising, education, training, and coaching.
  • Ensuring delivery of key initiatives under the GSANZ 2023-2027 Strategy apply ethical practice for working with lived experience across the whole of the organisation.
  • Establish standards of practice and operating procedures for work with lived experience across Good Shepherd to design and deliver services that are trauma and healing informed.
  • Create relationships and foster learning and professional development programs to enhance capability that is informed by lived experience.
  • Manage and provide Lived Experience psychosocial support and safety for Good Shepherd that builds trust, supports agency, and is healing informed for lived experience participants.
  • Plan and lead community engagement to develop sustainable and growing relationships with diverse client groups and communities that Good Shepherd seeks to serve.
  • Co-facilitation of workshops, meaning making, and coordination of co-production projects across Good Shepherd to enhance capability measures of the GSANZ strategic plan.
  • Detailed project and records management, and administration of organisation wide projects, data capture to measure service delivery and impacts, drafting reports and presentations for the leadership group.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering lived experience projects and initiatives, preferably that adhere to co-production and participatory approaches
  • Proven ability to build engagement and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with diverse stakeholders, including people who have experienced marginalisation and family violence, and support individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong project management and administrative skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Commitment to social impact and ethical practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or implementing enterprise-wide cultural change or change management.
