Goodstart Early Learning has the unique opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join the Strategy team 22.8 hours per week based at our centre in Girrawheen, WA. The Speech Pathologist will perform a range of professional, educational and administrative functions to support the TaLKERS speech pathology program which forms part of the organisation’s Social Inclusion Strategy.

Key responsibilities include delivery and day to day management of the program including:

  • Delivering the program in consultation with others
  • Providing support to Goodstart educators, Centre Directors and Centre Support staff to increase their understanding of how they can create environments that encourage and support children’s speech, language and social/emotional development:
  • Working alongside Goodstart staff to build their understanding of the tools and techniques they can use in practice
  • Communicating regularly with staff about the program, its goals, strategies and outcomes
  • Contributing to the development of resources for use in the program
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the program
  • Orienting Goodstart staff to the program
  • Providing regular information about the progress of the program and the outcomes for children

To be considered for this position it is essential you possess the following skills and experience:

A degree (or equivalent) in Speech Pathology and be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of innovative speech pathology services in early childhood settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the access and participation of vulnerable children in early learning and care settings
