- Regional QLD > Murgon
Graham House is a Community Centre providing a range of services for the South Burnett community. The South Burnett is a rural region 200-300 kms north-west of Brisbane. Our main building is in Murgon, one of the small towns in the region.
Some of the programs for which Graham House is funded are a Family Intervention Service, Domestic Violence – Men’s Behaviour Change program and Early Intervention Family Support Service. Five workers across these three programs form our Family Support Team.
Access to psychological assessment and treatment for our clients is very limited in the South Burnett. To try to meet this need, we are looking to engage a registered psychologist who is able to provide child and family psychological services as well as leadership for our Family Support Team.
Graham House’s mission is to provide holistic assistance which nurtures the strengths of individuals and the community to empower them to meet their own needs. Our core values include social justice, empathy, dignity, responsiveness, creativity, collaboration and the highest standards of ethics, accountability and quality.
This is a new role. Graham House’s goals are to provide face-to-face psychological services for our clients as well as to effectively support our staff. Our psychologist will work with the senior leadership to develop the role so that it achieves these goals.
This role is a unique opportunity in many ways:
The clinical focus will be family therapy working with children, adolescents and parents to address issues related to trauma and neglect. Many of our young clients will be exhibiting behavioural and emotional challenges. Some parents and children will have a disability.
The leadership focus will be on providing individual supervision, team development and professional development.
We will only consider international applicants who have already completed the assessment for transfer of qualifications process, and have obtained AHPRA registration, who are ready to commence work in Queensland and are available for an in-person interview.
We respectfully request that you do not apply if you do not meet the above requirements.
See attached position description and selection criteria.
PLEASE NOTE: This position is based in Murgon, Qld.
