- Salary based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level 2 Pay Point 1-4 negotiable subject to qualifications and experience

About the Role:
Greenacres has an opportunity in their Community, Life & Leisure Division for a Disability Support Worker.
This position works under general guidance, and within clearly defined guidelines, to provide support and supervision to participants at Greenacres sites and centres, in the community or in a person’s home.
Disability Support Workers must model our core values of Respect, Empathy, Fairness and Integrity.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Disability Work or related qualification and demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with moderate to severe disability who may also have autism, psychiatric conditions and/or physical disability and declining mobility.
- Demonstrated ability in adjusting work practices and communication enabling people with disability to have greater choice and control in their activities and supports.
- A clear understanding of worker expectations in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission. As a minimum, workers will need to have completed their Worker Orientation Module: ‘Quality, Safety and You’, before commencing employment.This can be completed at www.ndiscommission.gov.au/3cnolink3e/training-course.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with participants, parents and other service providers.
- Demonstrated experience writing accurate progress notes and incident reports.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within varied teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience using work related applications (Apps) on various types of mobile devices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to WHS. Manual handling tasks may include physical supports, examples include lifting up to 16kg and driving/operating wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Probity Requirements:
- A current National Criminal Clearance Check less than 6 months old prior to engagement
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- The Right to Work in Australia
- Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
