We plant native biodiverse forests to capture carbon emissions on behalf of our supporters and help fight the impacts of climate change.

Greenfleet is Australia’s first carbon offset provider. Since 1997 has planted over 10.5 million trees across 550 forests in Australia and New Zealand.

Greenfleet forests are legally protected for up to 100 years and address critical deforestation, remove carbon to protect our climate, improve water and soil quality, conserve biodiversity, and restore vital habitat for native wildlife.

The Opportunity

We have an incredible opportunity to join our close knit and collaborative team as our Communications and Engagement Manager. Reporting to, and working closely with, the GM Marketing and Engagement, this position is responsible for developing and delivering Greenfleet’s communication strategy across all channels and in conjunction with the broader Marketing and Engagement team and wider business. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the engagement and relationships with Greenfleet supporters. This position has one direct report, a Marketing Communications Coordinator.

This role is based across both our Flinders Lane office as well as work from home. Currently the team are 3-4 days a week work from home, with 1-2 days in the office.

Key accountabilities include:

Content and communications:

  • In conjunction with the GM, develop and deliver Greenfleet's social media plan and content marketing strategy.
  • Research, write, produce and edit both short and long form content for all channels ensuring authenticity of message and consistency with brand guidelines and purpose.

Event management:

  • Develop and implement the annual event strategy including a detailed event calendar.
  • Support the Marketing Communications Coordinator to deliver events to brief, time and budget from conception through to evaluation.

Engaging Greenfleet's corporate supporters:

  • Actively engage with current and prospective supporters and establish a strong understanding of the supporter needs.
  • Identify opportunities to establish and grow their support of Greenfleet.
  • Guide the Marketing and Communications Coordinator in delivering enquiry, account management, and administrative support to the wider team to ensure Greenfleet's individual donors meet agreed retention targets.

What you will bring:

  • At least 5 years’ experience within a marketing or communications-based role.
  • Strong and demonstrable writing skills across all forms and channels.
  • People management skills either formally or informally.
  • Demonstrable experience in event management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
  • Passionate about the environment and sustainability and have a strong alignment with Greenfleet’s vision and values.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be a constructive and engaged team player.
  • Outstanding organisational skills including the ability to manage and prioritise multiple concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines and to work in an independent, flexible manner where required.
  • Inquisitiveness, initiative, and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality of the highest order and a high level of personal integrity.
  • Highly resilient with an appetite to grow, develop and embrace change.
  • Tertiary qualifications are preferable.
  • MS Office proficiency, in particular Office365 – intermediate level required with a willingness to develop further skills.
