Reporting to the Program Director, you will manage the climate and energy team, who work together to implement campaign strategies and projects. The role will also work closely with other teams to develop an overall narrative, communication and engagement strategies for our climate and energy work. The Head of Climate and Energy will lead the long-term strategic direction and oversight of Greenpeace Australia Pacific’s (GPAP’s) climate and energy work with a focus on stopping the dangerous expansion of fossil gas, driving the real solutions to the climate crisis and ensuring strong coordination and integration of Pacific climate strategies throughout our work.
Your role will not only ensure ample resources for success but also involve spearheading major donor fundraising to fortify the team and execute strategic creative campaign plans.
Your role will be to provide creativity and leadership in planning campaigns and ensure the dynamism, ambition and successful coordination of all aspects of a range of initiatives.
A strong communicator and problem solver, with a comprehensive understanding of national political, cultural, and economic power dynamics and climate and energy policy. Having demonstrated proficiency in crafting strategic communications, encompassing story arcs, messaging, framing, and narrative development. The ideal candidate will be an expert in traditional and digital communication strategies.
Ideally, your adeptness is not only limited to strategy but also extends to securing essential resources, as evidenced by your capability to develop and pitch compelling funding proposals. Your experience in effectively communicating with the public and media showcases your ability to convey messages persuasively.
Additionally, your proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships across diverse stakeholders underscores your capacity to navigate complex networks. Your adept project management skills, coupled with a keen sense of adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances, further contribute to your well-rounded skill set.
There will be travel involved with this opportunity, Australia wide and potential to the Pacific.
