THE ROLE

GPAP is looking for a Volunteer and Activist Coordinator to recruit, train, and grow our base of amazing volunteers! GPAP’s volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and in this role you’ll be working closely with them to meaningfully contribute to our campaigns, creative confrontation and growing our power to take action.

You’ll work with the Senior Volunteer and Activist Coordinator and our Creative Confrontation Unit to build strategies and programs to build the skills of our Volunteer Network and harness the incredible range of skills and commitment to help us achieve our campaign goals and take meaningful action.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

To succeed in this role, you’ll have experience managing, developing and inspiring volunteers, and be confident using research and insights to develop participation and activist strategies. You will be a dynamic and passionate individual with a knack for inspiring others and driving impactful change.

Additionally, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be dedicated to securing an earth capable of nurturing life in all of its magnificent diversity.

In addition, you will have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Intermediate knowledge and/or experience in use of digital organising tools and, database management (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in managing volunteers and developing volunteerism in a systematic way
  • Understanding of political, cultural and economic power dynamics and alignment with Greenpeace theory of systems change
  • Demonstrated knowledge on how to use research, insights and analysis to develop participation or activist strategies
  • Digital broadcasting tools (SMS, Autopilot)
  • Facilitation and training (Adult education)
  • Ability to foster a culture of continued learning
  • Understanding and translating cultural requirements of working with organisations and individuals from the Pacific
  • At least two years’ experience in organising groups and individuals to act in a campaigning environment
  • Demonstrated skills for project and event management
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders

Salary $94,905.77 per annum + Superannuation
