The Greens Party movement is based on the four pillars of social equity and economic justice, ecological sustainability, grassroots democracy, and peace, nonviolence and disarmament. Greens parties across the world share these same principles and values.

The Greens NSW is comprised of 59 Local Groups across the state. We have two Senators in Federal Parliament, four MPs in the NSW Upper House, and three MPs in the Lower House. There are currently 73 Greens on Local Councils in NSW.

Key Responsibilities

The Digital Campaigner will implement social media and digital advertising strategies for the Central Coast Greens 2025 federal election campaign.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To work collaboratively as part of the Central Coast Green Campaign Team.
  • Create content for the Dobell and Roberston Federal campaigns.
  • Provide basic maintenance and management of the Central Coast Greens and the Greens for Dobell and Greens for Roberston Facebook page and Instagram accounts concerning local and federal government and broader political issues. This will include managing comments and interactions.
  • Attend training and ensure social media posts meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a database of graphic templates for local campaigns to use and modify in Canva.
  • Maintain a record of original content created.
  • Provide weekly written reports that detail Central Coast Greens’ social media activity and the impact of digital media campaigning. Adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Other tasks as required.

Essential Requirements

The Digital Campaigner must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Excellent people skills, focusing on sharing skills and ideas with local Greens campaigners of all ages and backgrounds across NSW.
  • Knowledge of and experience with social media and digital advertising platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing an election, social justice, environment, and/ or community social media campaign. Or equivalent.
  • Strong design, digital content creation, and production skills in Canva.
  • Experience producing social media content (primarily Facebook and Instagram) and developing social media strategies.
  • Knowledge of political issues and ethics and the ability to accurately apply the Greens’ policy to social media comments.
  • A commitment to The Greens and to advancing Greens policies and principles, including an understanding of the Greens and support for the party’s principles, policies, and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively.
  • A current Working with Children Check or a willingness to obtain one in the first month of employment
  • Must not be a member of another political party

Desirable

  • Previous experience in political campaigns.
  • Knowledge of local government issues. Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite software.

PAY AND CONDITIONS

  • Salary range: Class 3, $47.37 per hour + 12.5% superannuation.
  • Primary Location: Flexible Hybrid
  • Position status: Part-time, fixed-term for 8 weeks from the start date. Possibility to extend the contract.
  • Hours: Two days per week.
  • Position begins: Preferred start is 17 March but can be flexible for the successful candidate.
  • Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement.
