The Greens NSW are looking for a First Nations Network Support Officer to help build and strengthen our NSW First Nations Network. This is an opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified person to play a key role in supporting First Nations members within the Greens NSW, facilitating engagement, and ensuring strong administrative support for the Network.
ABOUT THE GREENS
The Greens Party movement is based on the four pillars of social equity and economic justice, ecological sustainability, grassroots democracy, and peace, nonviolence and disarmament. Greens parties across the world share these same principles and values.
The Greens NSW is comprised of 59 Local Groups across the state. We have two Senators in Federal Parliament, four MPs in the NSW Upper House, and three MPs in the Lower House. There are currently 73 Greens on Local Councils in NSW.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will:
- Assist in establishing and supporting the NSW First Nations Network (NSWFNN).
- Provide administrative support for meetings, events, and engagement activities.
- Work with Greens NSW staff and volunteers to increase First Nations membership and participation.
- Liaise with elected Greens representatives, committees, and other First Nations Networks across the Greens.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen First Nations representation and engagement within the Greens NSW.
This is a part-time role (two days per week, flexible), with occasional out-of-hours and weekend work required.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a First Nations identified person with:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with First Nations communities or groups.
- An understanding of Australian and NSW politics, and a commitment to Greens values.
- Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable skills: Experience working in Greens First Nations Networks or using CRM systems.

PAY AND CONDITIONS
- Salary: Class 3, $86,213.97 FTE ($47.37 per hour) plus 12.5% super
- Primary Location: The Greens NSW office in Camperdown, flexible work from home arrangements
- Hours: 14 hours (2 days) per week
- Status: Permanent part-time
- Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement
