We are seeking an Office & Sustainability manager to join our team to lead office operations for the Australian arm of The Guardian, and work on developing and promoting the local sustainability function while ensuring smooth and safe use of office facilities.

In this role you will…

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day running of our Sydney and Melbourne offices, and look after onsite site service providers, stock of supplies and consumable management, insurance, general repairs, equipment service checks and general office duties
  • Work with the CFO and the Head of IT and Operations on the long-term office strategy and project manage office moves/reconfigurations
  • Ensure compliance with WHS standards at all offices, and work with key stakeholders on WHS risk management
  • Chair the WH&S committee, recruit volunteers to be first aiders and emergency wardens and ensure their training is all up to date, and implement office security strategies
  • Develop and execute the emissions reduction plan for Guardian Australia, and collate and report data for our annual carbon audit
  • Be the sustainability SME for internal stakeholders, and champion sustainability initiatives to staff, and partner with building management to encourage sustainability changes at our offices
  • Own the local B-Corp recertification process and work closely with international colleagues on the process
  • Manage relevant staff communications along with updating employee site content

You’ll bring….

  • Experience with workplace management across multiple interstate sites, including experience managing office fit-outs
  • The ability to lead and manage projects, experience in overseeing building works and working with trade and service contractors
  • Experience in effectively working with and influencing both internal and external stakeholders
  • A working knowledge of building codes, Australian standards, regulatory requirements and statutory laws
  • Experience writing policies, procedures and staff communications
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail
  • Excelled written and verbal communication skills
