ABout the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and dynamic individual to join HACSU's Industrial team providing industrial and legal advice.
You will be working in a fast paced environment with a variety of duties including:
- Provide industrial advocacy to members in respect of bargaining, compliance, grievance, disciplinary and professional matters in Fair Work and other tribunals. This includes full case preparation and conducting conciliation and arbitration of industrial matters.
- In conjunction with the Senior Industrial Officer and Organising team, draft, review and negotiate Collective Agreements with individual employers and across sector employers.
- Undertake research into industrial issues and industry reform impacting on workers’ rights and employment conditions.
- Prepare submissions, briefings and reports internally and externally to various bodies to further the interests of members.
- Prepare industrial updates and bulletins for members.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic industrial and organising campaigns.
- Plan and manage industrial campaigns, including attention to risk management demonstrating the capacity to operate in an environment of rapid change.
- Represent the Branch before appropriate tribunals and on industry and government consultative bodies with strong advocacy skills.
