At the helm of Haus of Dizzy, proud Wiradjuri woman Kristy Dickinson creates bold, playful, statement-making jewellery that celebrates and honours Indigenous culture—imbuing a sense of empowerment and joy within everybody who wears it. Often featuring powerful political and social messages, each Haus of Dizzy piece is designed, laser-cut, hand-painted and assembled in the company’s studio, located in Fitzroy, Melbourne/Naarm.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A studio manager is responsible for monitoring a studio's operations and managing staff performance and duties. You will ensure that the studio operations maintain maximum productivity and efficiency, providing the best in customer service and maximising company profits.

Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, especially in communicating with the team and our customers. We are seeking someone who is super organised, proactive and energetic in their approach to getting things done.

The ideal person will ideally have 3-5 years of production management experience, is a self-starter with high attention to detail and is able to work both independently and as part of a team in a tight-knit workplace. We are, however, willing to be flexible on experience for the right person.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Set and execute production schedule, managing resources to improve efficiency and lead times for all production operations.
  • Manage a small team to ensure best outcomes for the business, including performance management, planning and rostering.
  • Manage inventory demands and flows. Organise, order and track materials and supplies for production and fulfilment, working with our network of suppliers to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted production flow.
  • Develop strategies to measure production efficiency, lead times, losses and quality control metrics.
  • Serve as the point of quality control to ensure all products leaving the studio meet our high quality standards.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service, through all modes of contact, with retail and wholesale customers.
  • Working under the direction of the Owner and Director and alongside the eCommerce Manager and Social Media Manager to collectively deliver on organisational goals and objectives.
  • Support our Founder and Director to create a productive and agile work environment that is welcoming and safe for people of all identities and backgrounds.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Solid foundation in Excel and Inventory tracking systems*
  • Proficiency in inventory management*
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint*
  • Experience with Square payment processing*
  • Experience with ecommerce platform Shopify*
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project planning software*
  • Experience managing a small team of staff
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills
  • Self motivated, hard working and strong problem solving skills
  • Able to work both within a team and independently and willing to take direction and constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills, friendly and helpful in demeanour
  • Full Victorian Drivers License

CONDITIONS

This is a four day a week role with an initial contract period of 18 months with potential for extension. A six month probation period will apply. The role will require the successful candidate to be largely onsite Tuesdays to Fridays 9am to 5pm however over time there will be opportunity for a hybrid working model. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
