About us

Head and Neck Cancer Australia is the only national charity supporting people living with Head and Neck Cancer. We are dedicated to raising awareness of Head and Neck Cancer and improving the outcomes of people affected by providing free information, support and advocacy. In March 2025 we will launch Australia’s first specialist Head and Neck Cancer Helpline.

About the role

This is an exciting and pivotal role with a high level of ownership to execute and support the growth of HANCA’s fundraising income and strategy.

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Partnerships & Philanthropy Manager to build existing relationships, open doors of opportunity and drive business development through the growth of corporate and philanthropic giving to support HANCA’s vision and purpose.

Working within the Fundraising and Marketing team and reporting to the CEO, you will be supported by our Board and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Secure and grow income targets by proactively managing existing relationships, identifying and acquiring new relationships.
  2. Work closely with HANCA’s key stakeholders to build compelling cases for support and communicate impact.
  3. Provide updates and reports to nurture and steward best practice relationships.
  4. Track activities against income targets and report on progress to enable ROI analysis.
  5. Coordinate acquittal and financial reports.

About you

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related fields of fundraising and/or business development role.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently seize opportunities and proven results in achieving and/or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Successful track record in building and managing relationships with a focus on prospecting, securing and nurturing relationships with high-touch stewardship.
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities, including expertise in delivering quality research backed strategies and effectively managing a prospect pipeline.
  • A driven and solution-oriented approach complemented with an enthusiastic and confident approach to work, demonstrating a growth-oriented and winning attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence in phone and written communication and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a small and collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM systems, Salesforce (desirable).
