About the role
FNYAC is made up of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across the country who work together to:
- Give your unique perspectives and advice to headspace National
- Influence mental health programs and services for young First Nations people
- Focus and contribute to issues that matter in governance, strategy, and advocacy
- Get involved in exciting projects, events, media, and leadership opportunities
What you'll do:
- Share your experiences and perspectives to shape youth mental health services
- Represent First Nations youth on panels, interviews, and key projects
- Help design policies, practice guides, and community programs
- Speak at conferences, events, and media platforms
- Connect with other young leaders and mentors
Who we're looking for:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people aged 18-30
- Passionate about youth mental health and making a difference
- Keen to work with others and represent First Nations voices
- Be confident in speaking up and sharing ideas
- Available and able to commit to an 18-month term as outlined in the position description
Please note: It is an operational requirement that this position is occupied by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

To be eligible for this position you must
- Be a First Nations young person aged 18-30
- Have the right to live and work in Australia
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) for your home state or territory
- Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check
