  • Prepare and maintain accounting files, reports and summaries, including but not limited to banking reports and statements, month-end, and bank reconciliations processing/balancing
  • Work with Australia’s peak national organisation for the community HIV response, with an active international program in the Asia Pacific region.

As Australia’s peak national organisation for the community HIV response, Health Equity Matters supports member organisations working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities, people living with HIV, sex workers, people who use drugs, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through advocacy, policy, and health promotion it leads Australia’s effort to end HIV transmission and promote the health of its communities.

In the Asia Pacific region, Health Equity Matters uses the same strengths to promote effective policy, strengthen local community leadership, and support communities in their work in HIV, health and human rights.

The Role

This role calls for a Finance Officer who will be responsible for supporting the fortnightly payroll process, and maintaining accurate records for all Health Equity Matters employees. This includes processing payments, terminations, entitlements, and increments while adhering to legal requirements such as PAYG, FBT, and superannuation. The role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems and HRIS. In addition to payroll duties, the officer will support the Finance Manager by assisting with accounts receivable and payable tasks, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate accounting files. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication, organisational, and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
