Health Workforce Queensland is a not for profit, non-Government Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) for primary health workforce in Queensland, focused on making sure remote, rural, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities have access to highly skilled health professionals when and where they need them, now and into the future.

Practice Information:

This organisation has provided dietetic/nutrition, sports dietitian, exercise physiology and diabetes education services in Queensland for the past 12 years, currently servicing more than 130 rural and metropolitan medical centres and facilities including their head office facilities. They specialize in chronic disease management and prevention, however can assist in a wide variety of cases (e.g. bariatric nutrition, disability nutrition, sports performance, aged care consultation, insurance work, public speaking, group education classes, etc).

Their mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in the Australian population and to prevent and manage chronic disease through physical activity and nutrition.

Position Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Accredited Dietitian (DAA) to become a part of a proactive company and work collaboratively with other Dietitians, along with other allied health and medical staff.

You will be working across the company’s medical centers, their Fraser Coast Head Office, and aged care facilities within Hervey Bay and Maryborough with some travel to Childers. The successful applicant will be working on a full-time basis (5 days per week), stepping into an existing patient load, and will be servicing medical centres and allied health facilities which have an established referral base.
New graduates are welcome to apply, however experience will be of value.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Accredited through the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)
  • Accredited (Provisional or Full) Dietitian through the Dietitians Associated of Australia (ESSENTIAL).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain rapport.
  • Possess and apply knowledge of evidence-based treatment, management and research about a wide range of health issues and diseases including diabetes, obesity, malnutrition, cardiovascular disease, applicable in the field of dietetics.

Hervey Bay is 3 ½ hours drive north of Brisbane, it is one of Queensland’s best natural holiday destinations. It is the Whale Watch capital of the world and the weather is beautiful all year around. It is the perfect place to live. There are numerous public and private schools in the area and also a University and TAFE. There are many shopping facilities and restaurants.
