Program Coordinator

Helm Youth Services

ABOUT US

Helm Youth Services exists to enable young Victorians to thrive through the challenges of transitioning from adolescence to adulthood (ages 15-24). The recent and rapid evolution in the nature of education, work, technology, and social interaction has meant that some young people have lost connections, confidence, and constructive pathways to independence. At Helm, we partner with young people to build key relationships, enhance their capacities, them to harness opportunities and celebrate rites of passage with them.

Our primary activity areas are:

  • Our work-integrated social enterprise, Youth Enterprises Australia, which commenced in late 2022, offering first employment opportunities in concert with corporate organisations.
  • Operation of the Inner Melbourne VET Cluster which has a 24-year history. In 2022 it placed a record 1800+secondary school students from 110 schools into Vocational Education programs.
  • Operation of our Registered Training Organisation, which holds a number of government contracts including National Disability Coordination, Jobs Victoria Employment Services and Jobs Advocates.

We are actively working to build new organisational partnerships which will expand our vibrant community, focussed on generating positive impacts for young Victorians.

ABOUT The Role

The Program Coordinator will report directly to the VET Delivered in Secondary Schools (VDSS) Team Leader and will work closely with other members of the team to ensure that cluster programs are delivered effectively and efficiently.
