A rewarding opportunity to be part of an established state-wide program delivering testing and care pathways for people living with, or at risk of, hep C.
Interviews (friendly chats by phone) to be held in late-Feb, and training in early April.
Our peers work alongside health partners at community sites, supporting people in accessing hepatitis healthcare. Peers engage people in the community to get tested for hep C, check their liver health, and start their hep C cure journey.
You can be a peer worker – lived experience of hep C and cure, matched with a passion to engage others to access hepatitis healthcare, is the only requirement. You don’t need any qualifications, prior training, or work experience to be suited to this role. Hepatitis NSW peer workers are well paid, including for training and work travel expenses. You’ll also have opportunities to upskill and attend events and conferences.
With around 20 peer workers across NSW, we’re looking to add more amazing people to the team. Regardless of your background or previous work experience, if you’ve had hep C and been cured through treatment then we’d love to hear from you.
We work to prevent the transmission of viral hepatitis and improve the health and well-being of affected people and communities.
Hepatitis NSW provides a supportive, friendly, and fulfilling workplace. Our employees and volunteers are the foundation for our ongoing effectiveness and capacity to deliver innovative community engagement, health promotion programs and initiatives.
Hepatitis NSW is an EEO employer. As part of our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
