Support Worker

Hireup

We’re Hireup, where purpose meets technology.

Hello, nice to meet you! We’re an online platform and community for people with disability and their families, anywhere in Australia, to find, hire and manage local Support Workers who fit their needs and share their interests. Whether it’s support with personal care, getting to work or catching a footy game, we give individuals the tools and technology to pursue a good life on their own terms - a life of choice, independence and control.

At Hireup, you’ll become a critical part of an exciting team, championing this purpose for people with a disability. Wherever you fit best within our organisation, from tech to support and everything else in between, this purpose will ignite you, and our united, grounded and autonomous workplace will help you flourish.

Your role - Support Worker

The specific duties that you will undertake as a Support Worker will be set and agreed by our client, Paul and his family. Paul is 34 and lives in his own home in the Fremantle area which he shares with a friend. Paul’s life vision includes things such as running his own business, travel, advocacy, going to music gigs with friends and getting involved in the Freo music scene. He enjoys a bit of adventure, chilling out in pools and spas and is interested in keeping fit and eating healthy.

This casual role would include 10-12 hours per week of support including morning, evening and weekend shifts.

Your Background

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • First Aid certificate
  • Current driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility in your approach

The person that Paul is after is:

  • Open to new ways of thinking, curious about the different ways that people function and have well-developed social intelligence
  • Experienced in using contemporary approaches to supporting people with disability. Given Paul mostly uses alternative communication methods, prior experience supporting a person like him will be an advantage
  • Somebody who uses initiative, is energetic, flexible, reliable and able to work alone while being part of a team

Whether you have previously worked as a Disability Support Worker, in a similar field or are completely new to the industry, Paul wants to meet you!

Your Benefits

We truly care for and invest in our Support Workers. Through employment, training, great pay and ongoing support, Hireup is committed to delivering the best support possible for both workers and people with disability.

  • Fair Pay: Hireup follows the disability services industrial award, which means pay rates are guaranteed and determined annually
