Are you a digital marketing all-rounder with a knack for running successful digital fundraising campaigns, managing digital channels, and creating shareable content? We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join the team at HMRI.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you’ll help share the amazing things we’re doing in medical research, fundraising, and for community. From running online campaigns and updating the website, managing social media you’ll play a big part in getting our message out there.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Implementing online campaigns to support our research, digital fundraising and community events.
  • Keeping our website up to date, user-friendly, and looking good.
  • Creating posts for our social media (think Meta, LinkedIn, and others) that people want to like and share.
  • Creating newsletters and eDMs that audiences want to click on.
  • Making simple graphics and videos to tell our story.
  • Checking what’s working (and what’s not) with data and making improvements as you go.

What you’ll need:

  • A marketing, communications, digital fundraising or similar background (a degree would be great!).
  • A couple of years’ experience in a similar role (3–5 is ideal).
  • Confidence with tools like WordPress, Sprout Social/Oktopost, and email software.
  • Some design skills (using Canva or Adobe) and an eye for what looks good.
  • A knack for writing and communicating ideas simply and clearly.

This is a full-time (1 FTE) position based in the HMRI building on the northern side of the John Hunter Hospital Campus. The role is a 12-month maximum-term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to operational requirements.

Why work for us?
