About Us
Yawoorroong Miriuwung Gajerrong Yirrgeb Noong Dawang Aboriginal Corporation (MG Corporation) was established in 2006 to receive and manage the benefits transferred under the OFA to the MG People, who are recognised under Australian law as holding Native Title over large areas in the North of Western Australia’s east Kimberley region.
The Role
Under the direction of the GM, the Receptionist provides the first point-of-contact for clients and visitors to MG Corporation both face-to-face and over the telephone. The position includes administration tasks vital to the running of the MG Corporation office and its programs and provides confidential administrative support to the organisation.
General
- Provide the first point-of-contact for clients and visitors to MG Corporation both face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Provide confidential administrative support to the organisation, including supporting day-to-day activities.
- Administration assistance to the GM including diary management.
- Administration support for Board meetings including agendas, boards packs and catering.
- Administration support for the Programs Manager and Finance Manager.
- Support with travel arrangements for the GM and Board.
- Any other reasonable request from the General Manager
Reception
- Manage the front reception area, meet and greet visitors and direct all enquiries appropriately in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure meeting rooms are prepared for respective meetings and coordinate any equipment or meeting requirements i.e. projector, laptop, Skype, conference phone, etc.
- Maintain a professional, clean and tidy appearance of the front reception area, kitchenette and conference room on a daily basis.
- Ensure that an up-to-date MG Corporation newsletter is clearly displayed in the reception area and provided to visitors if appropriate.
- Answer incoming phone calls, transfer phone calls, take accurate messages and e-mail them to appropriate staff members.
- Collect mail on a daily basis, enter into the Mail register and distribute to appropriate staff members.
- Regularly review and maintain the online MG Corporation and Gelganyem shared conference room booking calendar.
- Ensure that all MG Corporation office doors are locked and the building is secure at the end of each working day.
- Manage the ordering of kitchen and cleaning supplies; printer consumables and office stationery.
- Attend staff meetings when directed and participate in skills development or training courses and programs.
Consultation
- Assist in the arrangement of ad hoc community communication and consultation activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in dealing with a diverse range of people from both a cultural and ethnic background. Applicants with experience working successfully with Aboriginal people will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated high level organisational, administration and time management skills with the ability to balance competing demands in a calm and professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and manage a range of sensitive issues with delicacy and discretion.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully utilise the Microsoft Office range (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher) of programs to achieve the administration functions of this position OR a willingness to commit to computer training.
- Current driver’s licence.

Location and conditions
This is a full time, Kununurra based role offering a generous salary package. Base salary, superannuation and salary packaging.
