Looking to take a lead role to facilitate the establishment of ‘grassroots’ alcohol & other drug (AOD) prevention Community Response Committees?
This role will support the development and implementation of evidence-based AOD prevention activities within local Goldfields communities. You will also be required to liaise with government and non-government agencies, professionals and community groups regarding AOD prevention initiatives throughout the Goldfields region.
We are inviting applications from suitably skilled individuals to fill the role of Community Engagement Officer in Kalgoorlie (potential consideration of other Goldfields areas or a Perth based Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) arrangement for suitably qualified and locally connected candidates). This position is offered on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week).
A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health, Health/Social Science or equivalent relevant experience is required.
This position will be supported by Holyoake’s Team Leader for the AOD Community Prevention Service. This is a great opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive team environment that incorporates a level of autonomy.
Holyoake is a leading provider of counselling, support and prevention services for people impacted directly and indirectly by alcohol, other drugs, and related mental health issues. We operate through five locations in WA - Victoria Park, Midland, Northam, Narrogin and Merredin, and employ over 100 staff. Holyoake is now establishing a state-wide Community AOD Prevention Service across the Kimberley, Goldfields, Great Southern, South-West and Mid-West regions.
