Position Overview:
House of Darwin Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Impact. This leadership role is pivotal to the success of our organisation as it involves overseeing the implementation of our "Hoop Dreams in the NT" program, as well as leading fundraising and stakeholder engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community development, youth empowerment, and fundraising while possessing excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Oversight:
- Lead and oversee the "Hoop Dreams in the NT" program, which aims to provide youth in the Northern Territory with access to basketball and life skills development opportunities.
- Develop and execute program strategies to ensure maximum impact, including the expansion of the program's reach and its effectiveness in positively impacting the lives of participants.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, tracking key performance indicators, and making data-driven decisions to continually improve program delivery.
2. Fundraising and Development:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies and campaigns to secure financial support for the House of Darwin Foundation's initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners, seeking opportunities for collaboration and funding.
- Write grant proposals, manage grant applications, and report to funders on the impact of their contributions.
- Explore innovative fundraising approaches, such as crowdfunding and online giving platforms, to expand the foundation's donor base.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
- Represent the organisation at events, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness of our mission and programs.
- Engage with local communities, government agencies, and other organisations to build strategic alliances and partnerships.
4. Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of program coordinators and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of program activities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in program management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A passion for community development, youth empowerment, and sports.
- Knowledge of the Northern Territory's social and community landscape is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
