  • The Commission has a non-ongoing opportunity for an APS Level 6 Project and Policy Officer to work in the Sydney office (remote and flexible working arrangements are available) on a 6 month contract.
  • You will be part of the Human Rights and Scrutiny team.
  • Salary range $85,826-$98,079 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation

Skills & Experience

Under the direction of the Director, undertake a range of duties including:

  • Contributing as part of a team to develop and run a public consultation process focused on the human rights aspects of emergency responses, including preparing a written report of themes and detailed findings.
  • Advise on and contribute to the conduct of research, policy development and planning activities on human rights related subject matter areas.
  • Contribute to specific human rights projects as identified by the Commissioner and Director.
  • Work collegiately with internal stakeholders across the Commission to contribute to the strategic goals and key priorities of the Commission.
  • Where relevant, supervise staff and interns in the conduct of research, preparation of materials and undertaking projects.
  • Attend consultative and other meetings, conferences and seminars and represent the Commission (where required).
  • Other duties consistent with the above as directed.

Candidates with relevant experience in human rights events will be highly regarded.
