<p>As Australia's first Women&rsquo;s Trauma Recovery Centre (the 'Centre') offering long term support to women who have experienced domestic family and sexual violence, we intend to continually refine and improve our services to ensure we are supporting women to live independent, secure lives with hope and optimism. We're looking for a dedicated and passionate <strong>Intake Coordinator </strong>who is committed to our vision and values and ready to make a tangible impact in our clients&rsquo; lives.</p>
<p>As an Intake Coordinator with us, you'll play a pivotal role in driving transformative change, working closely with women who seek support and guidance on their path to recovery. This role will be a part-time job share however, we will consider applications from candidates seeking full-time opportunities for the right fit.</p>
<h3><strong>About us:</strong></h3>
<p>The Centre is a community-led initiative, codesigned with women with lived expertise, professional experts and service providers to offer free comprehensive and long-term support to women recovering and healing from the trauma of domestic, family and sexual violence.</p>
<p>The Centre is a project of the Illawarra Women's Health Centre. Established in 1986, we are nationally accredited and provide a safe place for women to access specialised high-quality women's medical and health care services.</p>
<h3><strong>Where you will channel your energy:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Conduct vital risk assessments, evaluating potential suicide and violence risks. You'll create tailored action plans to address these challenges and provide ongoing support.</li>
<li>Respond to inquiries, screen and assess client needs, prioritise cases, and schedule follow-up appointments.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong connections with a diverse range of individuals and organisations, enhancing the support network for our clients.</li>
<li>Identify clients in crisis and facilitate immediate interventions or referrals, playing a crucial role in their recovery journey.</li>
<li>Discuss and coordinate referral options to both internal and external services, ensuring clients have access to a comprehensive range of support.</li>
<li>Establish effective partnerships with professionals in health, mental health, and psychosocial services to create a seamless support system for clients.</li>
<li>Keep accurate and confidential records of client assessments and interactions, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date</li>
<li>Participate in relevant training and development opportunities, enhancing your skills and contributing to our team's success.</li>
<li>Build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community organisations.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and assessments.</li>
<li>Actively represent the Centre in the community and engage with various service providers.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>About YOU:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>A deep commitment to the vision and values of the Illawarra Women&rsquo;s Health Centre, with a genuine desire to support women in their healing journey.</li>
<li>Tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline that provides a sound understanding and knowledge of assessing and working with women experiencing Domestic, Family, Sexual Violence.</li>
<li>At least 5 years of hands-on experience conducting intake assessments for women impacted by Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence, along with knowledge of evidence-based interventions and clinical practices.</li>
<li>High-level verbal and written communication abilities that enable you to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, while maintaining confidentiality.</li>
<li>Experience in conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and facilitate access to appropriate therapeutic services.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>The nice to haves (desirable knowledge and experience):</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Current registration with AHPRA or membership with AASW or appropriate regulators.</li>
<li>Background in working with diverse communities or lived experience of diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQIA+, migrant, culturally and linguistically diverse, neurodivergent individuals, and those with disabilities.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in advocating for gender equality and women&rsquo;s rights.</li>
<li>Fluency in a community language other than English is a plus.</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of contemporary family, domestic, and sexual violence, including the trauma impacts of gender-based violence and abuse.</li>
