Impact You Will Have in This Role

This is a brand-new and exciting role that will join a high-performing Major Gifts team, to oversee the execution of the mid-value donor strategy.

In partnership with the Development team, you will focus on identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding mid-value gifts ($500-$25k), aiming to expand the portfolio through personalised and meaningful connection, improved donor communications, and the successful delivery of key engagement initiatives.

We are seeking a proven relationship fundraiser with expertise in all aspects of donor relationship development. A strong entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity to experiment with new approaches are essential. The ideal candidate will need to excel in a small, collaborative team setting within a larger medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Development to implement the mid-value donor strategy, focusing on planning and executing activities that enhance donor engagement and drive growth across all stages of donor relationship development.
  • Implement key activities within the mid-value donor strategy to increase engagement and drive higher-value gifts, major gifts, pledges, and bequests (i.e events, tours etc)
  • Conduct monthly meetings with prospects, donors, and clinical staff, maintaining up-to-date contact profiles, actions, and reports in the donor database.
  • Collaborate with the Annual Campaigns team to integrate mid-value donors into personalised communications (e.g., appeals, newsletters) and stewardship efforts.
  • Work towards meeting targets and Key Performance Indicators related to mid-value donor engagement and giving.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in relationship fundraising ideally in mid-value and/or major gifts.
  • Skilled in initiating donor contact, cultivating relationships, and managing gift protocols, including stewardship and end-to-end gift management.
  • Expertise in strategy implementation, project management, and prioritising workloads to meet KPIs in a results-driven environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build trusting and positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong judgment, sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy in balancing physician expectations with donor and prospect needs.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
