Impact of the organisation

Each year, thousands of Australians are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma, or myeloma, and many more are diagnosed with autoimmune diseases such as MS, blood diseases like anaemia, and other non-malignant diseases. In many cases, a bone marrow or stem cell transplant offers the best prospect of recovery.

Arrow exists to improve the quality of life for all people having a bone marrow transplant.

They do this by providing financial assistance, information resources and emotional support to patients, their families and carers, supporting the educational and professional development needs of nurses and other health care professionals working in the transplant field, and by investing in medical research that improves bone marrow transplant patient outcomes.

Impact you will have in this role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a relationship fundraiser who is passionate about building engaging and personal relationships with donors at varying levels of their giving journey.

Your main focus will be to build strong relationships with new and existing supporters, aiming to grow Arrow’s fundraising impact from mid value supporters, major givers, and bequests while understanding each donor’s reason for giving to create and implement donor centric stewardship plans.

This is an opportunity to build and flourish donor relationships to grow support from individual donors to ensure continued and long-term support for Arrows mission to improve the quality of life for all people having a bone marrow transplant.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, nurture, and grow individual donor relations from prospects, individual donors, regular donors, mid-level donors, major givers through to confirmed bequestors
• Actively grow the number of supporters through managing and nurturing existing relationships, as well as identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new relationships
• Develop donor journeys and stewardship plans that are focused on donor communication, engagement, and growth across multiple fundraising channels
• Lead on donor care activities across the donor base to include visits, calls, events, and letters to nurture key donor relationships and to provide opportunities to meaningfully connect with donors, and prospective donors
• Manage communication to donors that enhances engagement and commitment
• Using Salesforce, maintain up-to-date donor records, ensuring a data-driven approach for all donor initiatives, and to manage prospecting and each donor’s individual giving journey
• Provide the highest level of donor care to all donors, applying a sensitive, empathetic and donor-centric approach across all engagement activity
• Collaborate with all internal teams to assess and identify potential prospects and to develop tailored cases for support to share with prospective donors including through individual giving campaigns

Skills and Experience

• A background in relationship fundraising with proven success personally increasing fundraising support from individual donors at varying levels of their giving journey
• Proven success and experience working with donors to provide a tailored and high-touch relationship throughout their giving journey, by exemplifying exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Strong research, pitch, and presentation skills with the ability to develop innovative, tailored and donor centric cases for support
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to listen and engage and strong attention to detail
• High level of efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in relation to time management, multi-tasking, prioritising tasks
• Success making data driven decisions to build on fundraising success and growth, using Salesforce or a similar CRM
• A genuine passion to make an impact in the lives of Australian’s affected by bone marrow transplants
