Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is the only independent, not-for-profit, comprehensive cancer centre in NSW. We offer every treatment and therapy a person with cancer may need, all under one roof.

We aim to achieve lasting change in the way we treat and prevent cancer in Australia, by bringing together all of the elements of cancer research, treatment, care, education and emotional support within the one centre of excellence.

Impact You Will Have in This Role

This is a brand-new role joining an expanding Individual Giving team to support with the delivery of their appeals, newsletters, regular giving, in memoriam donations, and other engagement activities.

You will assist with campaign setup, reporting and analysis while managing donor data through CRM systems and digital platforms. You will also have the chance to connect directly with patients and donors, offering a meaningful way to contribute to the mission.

We need someone who is solutions-focused, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets!

Key Responsibilities

Data:

  • Segment and cleanse data and pull reports for campaign activities such as emails, SMS, mail (appeals, newsletters or cards).
  • Assist with campaign set up, including marketing automation through Marketing Cloud.
  • Support with processing donations and campaign data in the CRM.

Digital:

  • Optimise reporting and data targeting in collaboration with our Donor Campaigns Specialist and existing suppliers.
  • Support the Donor Campaigns Specialist with website management and digital advertising trends.

Relationships:

  • Build relationships including but not limited to donors, patients, clinicians, suppliers and the wider team.
  • Answer the Development phone line when needed, making occasional outbound calls to donors and other stakeholders, taking in person donations and interviewing people to develop case studies to support our annual giving appeals including patients and those who may have experienced a loss of a loved one.
  • Support people to set up in memorium fundraising and with stewarding our regular donors under the guidance of the Annual Giving Manager.

Key Skills

  • Previous experience in Individual Giving, direct marketing, telemarketing, data, or fundraising support roles.
  • Attention to detail for managing donor data, including checking contact details, removing duplicates, and formatting.
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines for campaign-based activities.
  • Experience in donor segmentation, ensuring proper filtering and respecting opt-out requests.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with hospital stakeholders.
  • Excellent listening and analysis skills to solve problems.
  • Exhibit good judgment and sensitivity to interpersonal and organisational dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills for cleaning and manipulating data.
  • Proven experience with technical platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Funraisin, Monday.com).
