This new high-impact Capacity Campaign is designed to drive innovation and excellence across the North Sydney Local Health District. The Capacity Campaign will play a critical role in the NORTH Foundation’s Clinical Trials Campaign, which seeks to enhance opportunities for innovation in healthcare by enabling research that improves patient outcomes and contributes to vital medical advancements.

As the Major Gifts Specialist- Capacity Campaign you’ll be at the heart of driving the success of the Clinical Trials Campaign, which will revolutionise healthcare across the North Sydney Local Health District.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute tailored strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects for the Clinical Trials Campaign
- Personally manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, ensuring timely and effective engagement, including face-to-face meetings, events, and communications
- Develop and implement stewardship plans to ensure long-term relationships with donors and prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and gift agreements aligned with the campaign’s vision
- Collaborate with the Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager to develop customised donor journeys that inspire transformational giving and work closely with the campaign leadership team to establish annual fundraising targets and strategies for the campaign
- Coordinate donor engagement activities, including campaign briefings, events, and site visits to highlight the impact of clinical trials in the NSLHD
- Monitor and report on campaign progress, including donor pipeline management and revenue tracking
- Leverage partnerships with the NSLHD and other stakeholders to strengthen the NORTH Foundation’s case for support and engage with clinical leaders, researchers, and stakeholders to identify compelling funding opportunities that align with donor interests
- Work with the NORTH Foundation team to provide meaningful recognition for major donors, including tailored impact reports, naming opportunities, and special events.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM system, tracking donor interactions, gifts, and campaign progress
- Prepare regular reports on major gifts activity and campaign performance for internal stakeholders and the NORTH Foundation Board• Collaborate closely with all members of the team and with external stakeholders to reach optimal results
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience and success in major gifts fundraising, with a track record of securing 5-figure and 6-figure gifts, or experience securing commercial partnerships at the same financial level
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with major donors, corporates, and philanthropic organisations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present compelling proposals, cases for support, pitches and presentations
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
- A strong collaborative approach, with proven success working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to achieve impactful results
- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and CRM systems
- A passion for health, clinical research, clinical trials, and the vision of the NORTH Foundation
