Impact You Will Have

The Marketing and Communications Manager will provide strong leadership and support to a small, high-performing, and close-knit marketing team. This role is ideal for a generalist marketer with a background in brand marketing, who is skilled in managing and enhancing ACRF’s brand marketing and fundraising communications efforts.

You will be responsible for prioritising and managing workflow and resources, ensuring the team delivers high-quality communications that support fundraising efforts, build awareness, and drive engagement.

This position requires close collaboration with the fundraising team to align messaging and objectives, while maintaining a strong focus on organisation and adaptability. A fast learner with excellent organisational skills is key to thriving in this hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to build and maintain the ACRF brand with consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Create and implement marketing strategies, communications, and PR activities aligned with ACRF’s Fundraising and Marketing strategy.
  • Oversee the production of cancer research news, updates, and key communications.
  • Develop and execute an annual PR plan, including media outreach and social media influencers, to share ACRF’s stories.
  • Lead ACRF’s ambassador program and support fundraising teams with creative and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to the development of annual appeal materials in collaboration with the Individual Giving team.
  • Manage the ACRF website, ensuring it remains updated and optimised.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and resource management for the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies and stakeholders for collaborative projects.
  • Plan and execute web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns with the Digital Marketing Specialist.
  • Mentor and manage the Marketing & Communications team to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Measure and report the performance of marketing campaigns and assess against objectives.
  • Collaborate on the annual Marketing & Communications strategy.
  • Manage the Marketing & Communications budget, including forecasting and tracking.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Proven experience in a previous similar role in marketing, brand, communications or similar.
  • Expertise in PR, media relations, and corporate communications.
  • Strong creative development, brand management, and digital marketing skills, with experience in measuring and tracking campaign ROI.
  • Strong background in stakeholder relations, team management, and senior-level leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a blend of creative thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of digital channels, social media trends, marketing automation, and digital opportunities.
  • High energy, passion, and a strong donor-centric focus.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, driven, and solutions-focused with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Familiarity with Campaign Monitor, Kentico, and media tracking tools or similar.
  • Passionate about ACRF’s work to support breakthroughs and discoveries in cancer research.
