Impact of the organisation

Foodbank provides essential food and groceries to more than 1 million vulnerable Australians every year. To do this, we work with the entire Australian food and grocery sector including farmers, wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers who donate and redirect surplus product to us so we can make it available to charities providing emergency food relief.

Foodbank NSW & ACT is a not-for-profit, federated organisation who support over 1,100 schools and place-based organisations right across NSW and ACT.

Each month we provide 337,000 households with food and grocery assistance. Despite Foodbank’s scale and capacity, we are currently only meeting half the need. Foodbank is looking for likeminded people to join the team and support our mission to ensure everyone has access quality food and essentials when they need it.

Impact of this opportunity

With the support of the Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy, you will be responsible for growing and nurturing relationships with a diverse and thriving portfolio of existing corporate partners to increase annual revenue and growth to support food relief operations across NSW and the ACT.

Along with the opportunity to grow opportunities with current partners, there is also extensive opportunity in this role to develop and cultivate new business partnerships and generate further support and strategic partnership opportunities.
We are searching for a passionate, confident and driven relationship fundraiser with proven success growing, nurturing and flourishing sustainable long-term and evolving partnerships that contribute to fundraising outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the account management and development of partnership opportunities for support with a portfolio of existing partners to confirm and increase their fundraising support to further serve communities in need
  • Deliver best practice relationship management to build and manage a mix of recurring and multi-year partnerships inclusive of financial donations, commercial sponsorship, volunteering, in-kind food/product, cause-related marketing, fundraising and/or food drives
  • Lead an annual calendar of partner engagement activities including communications, recognition, impact reporting, events, site visits and other relevant activities
  • Develop presentations, pitches, proposals, and submissions to grow the continued development of current partnerships while also scoping and developing new partnerships
  • Ensure that corporate partnership revenue targets are met and exceeded, by inspiring, innovating and delivering first-class and innovative experiences for all committed partners and prospective partners
  • Work with the Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy to provide regular reporting on progress against the Partnerships strategy and annual plans
  • Collaborate strongly with all internal teams to ensure a high-touch commitment to every partner throughout the development of their donor journey

Essential criteria:

  • Proven success actively evolving corporate partnerships to ensure sustainability and diversified growth in the relationship to meet mutual partnership targets in a similar role within the NFP sector
  • Experience developing and diversifying engaging business partnerships that are multi-layered, meaningful and impactful
  • Confidence and success leading business development activities and partnership growth, with a target driven and goal oriented approach
  • Proven experience to build a pipeline, initiate and manage partner negotiations, onboard and account manage partners, and steward for retention
  • A collaborative approach to managing relationships with a variety of external and internal stakeholders to meet mutual goals
  • Strong strategic research, pitch, and presentation skills with a creative flair for developing innovative partnerships concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Project management skills, including demonstrated ability to plan, implement, review and achieve project goals and objectives
  • Ability to innovate, design and implement strategies to achieve organisational objectives
  • A genuine passion and commitment to Foodbank NSW & ACT's vision and values, to end hunger
