Impact you will make in this role

As the Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing essential funding to support the impactful programs of Youth Insearch.

Reporting to the General Manager of Fundraising and Marketing, your responsibilities will include identifying and cultivating new relationships with Trusts and Foundations, major donors, bequests, and corporate partners, while also strengthening connections with existing supporters. You will work closely with internal teams to craft compelling grant applications and funding proposals, ensuring exceptional donor stewardship throughout.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a program that is still in its infancy, with huge potential for growth. We are seeking a motivated, self-starting fundraiser who is eager to shape and expand this critical area of fundraising.

We are looking for someone passionate about engaging with a diverse range of donors through written, verbal, and in-person interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee fundraising initiatives for Trust and Foundations, major gifts, bequests and corporate giving.
  • Develop donor engagement and stewardship plans to deepen relationships and increase commitment to Youth Insearch’s mission.
  • Contribute to developing communication strategies to increase revenue.
  • Lead the Grants and Tender process, working closely with the Grant Writer to develop a pipeline of opportunities and successfully secure funding for the organisation.
  • Implement a Gifts in Wills program for the organisation.
  • Oversee grant administration and reporting to funding bodies.
  • Track and report on fundraising performance and donor engagement.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience in relationship-based fundraising, with a track record of securing philanthropic gifts and grants.
  • Strong ability to engage, cultivate, and maintain relationships with high-value donors and funding bodies.
  • Experience leading grants and tender processes, including working with grant writers to secure funding and manage reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to developing communication strategies aligned with fundraising goals.
  • Strong analytical skills to track and report on fundraising performance and donor engagement.
  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Skills in leading and mentoring staff.
  • Familiarity with donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Strategic Grants and GEMS portal) is desirable.
  • Passionate about the social service and mental health sector.

Essential Requirements:

  • Approved Working with Children’s Check (in the relevant state).
  • Clear National Police Check.
