Experience in working with people with disability at a team leader / coordination / management level is advantageous.

Scope of Role / Duties

  • Assist participants to engage within the NDIS scheme and connect with the supports they require and promote choice and control in their lives and explore options, to grow and build their capacity to be as independent as possible
  • Provide information and guidance relating to exercising choice and control in directing / choosing their supports to achieve their goals and aspirations
  • Assist participants to reflect on what’s working and what needs to change and the provision of supports to achieve the best outcome

Selection Criteria

If you have the required experience, skills, knowledge and personal competencies below we look forward to receiving an application addressing your suitability against the criteria below. 

  1. Demonstrated, relevant experience (minimum 1+ years) working in the disability / community sector, preferably at a Team Leader / Coordinator / Management level to fulfil the requirements of this role
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially an ability to listen, interpret and act on what people want and need in a timely manner including effective problem-solving skills focussed on building connections that support participants to achieve outcomes 
  3. A dedicated and motivated team player who has a personal commitment to the Social Model of disability along with a genuine desire to collaboratively work within a dedicated team – building connections, supporting and celebrating successes.  Being motivated and driven by participant and organisational KPIs (billable and team related) is essential along with a great sense of humour.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and circumstances in a respectful and dignified manner.
  5. Competency in using cloud-based IT applications (Office 365 with Outlook, Word, Excel and client management systems).
  6. Demonstrated experience working with a high level of organisation and project / task management skills including management of competing priorities, tight deadlines, active engagement and accountability.
