ABOUT US

Built on the belief in reciprocity the Ingrained Foundation was established by Stone & Wood in 2018. Ingrained is a not-for-profit based on Bundjalung Country, focused on improving social and environmental wellbeing in the Northern Rivers, NSW. Our vision is of a regenerative region with thriving communities. Ingrained is a public ancillary fund, with charitable donations exceeding $250k annually.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Ingrained Board provides a core leadership role ensuring that the organisation operates in compliance with our responsibility as a Public Ancillary Fund and as an ACNC registered organisation with DGR status.

The board adds value to the organisation by steering, anticipating and providing wisdom and good judgement actively contributing to the mission to the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as an ambassador, and in the best interest for Ingrained.
  • Governance in line with our constitution and in accordance with ACNC requirements for our members and our purpose.
  • Leading the Investment Sub Committee, ensuring the long-term financial security of Ingrained.
  • Developing investment philosophy, strategy and management in line with sustainable investing ethos.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with partners, major donor, auditors, fund managers.
  • Ensuring compliance of all necessary financial reporting.
  • Attending and active engagement at Board meetings (quarterly) and Committee meetings (quarterly), with associated preparation and follow-up.
  • Developing and monitoring the organisation’s appetite for risk and managing and mitigating risk within this.
  • Ongoing contribution to the Ingrained strategy and plans.

Time Commitment:

2 – 3 hours per week

4 Board meetings annually, 2 of which are hosted in Byron Bay

4 Investment Sub Committee meetings per annum

Typical serving term minimum 3 years

ABOUT YOU

We are on the hunt for someone who is as passionate about regenerative region with thriving communities as we are! Someone who is willing to use their finance, not for profit, governance experience to make an impact in the Northern Rivers Community. An effective communicator with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, always acting with integrity and the interests of Ingrained.

Criteria:

  • Lives in and is passionate about building a thriving Northern Rivers.
  • Governance experience within not-for-profit / social sector.
  • Financial Management; working knowledge of the laws, regulations and financial responsibilities of a public axillary fund.
  • Portfolio Management; experience developing and managing sustainable investment strategies.
  • Ideally GAICD qualified or an experienced board member.
