The Position

The Merri-bek L2P Coordinator will support 57 young people to achieve their 120 hours of driving to obtain their probationary drivers licence. The program recruits and trains volunteer mentors to support the learner drivers to get these hours completed. The program has two cars located in Brunswick and Coburg which are used by the learners and mentors in the program.

Duties

  • Coordinate the recruitment of young people and mentors for the program
  • Coordinate the L2P program with a strong focus on minimising risk to all parties
  • Coordinate the operation of the two L2P vehicles including cleaning and mechanical maintenance
  • Oversee the online booking system for vehicles
  • Implement effective operational and administrative processes to achieve VicRoads KPIs
  • Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Arrange all Steering Committee meetings, minute taking and follow up tasks
  • Provide reports to VicRoads and the Steering Committee
  • Support and supervise the L2P Administration Officer
  • Undertaking evaluation of the program

The Selection Criteria

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience with mentoring programs or program coordination
  • Proven ability to build rapport and work with young people
  • Ability to co-ordinate and supervise volunteers
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and complete a range of work to deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in managing and developing projects
  • Proven ability to multi task and problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team

Place of Work

The INLLEN Office is located at the BRUDI at 420 Victoria Street Brunswick. INLLEN staff work in a hybrid model which includes working from home and time in the office.

Time Fraction

This role is offered as 0.8 - or 0.9 EFT up to 68.40 hours per fortnight with the possibility of some after hours work required.

Hours of work Monday – Friday are between the hours 8.00 am – 6.00pm

Emergency on call arrangements

The L2P program operates 7 days per week from 8am to 9pm with L2P cars out on the road during these times. In the advent of a serious incident or accident the L2P Coordinator and Executive Officer are contactable during these hours via mobile phone.

Salary and Conditions

The salary is $85,000 + 11.5% superannuation (Pro rata)

INLLEN has DGR status and salary packaging is available for all staff

Annual leave is available on the basis of 20 days pro rata for one year of full-time employment

Other Information

  • A Pre-employment Police Records check will be required
  • Current working with children check required
  • Own transport essential
  • A current Victorian drivers license is essential
  • A travel allowance is paid on a KM basis
