The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) is an exciting non-profit global research organisation which has been rated as one of the world’s most impactful think tanks by size. IEP’s main products - the Global Peace Index, Global Terrorism Index and the Ecological Threat Register - receive billions of media impressions per annum and are considered the leading products in the world in their field. The Institute’s core research products are used in thousands of universities courses and with partners conducting training courses in countries such as Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Mexico or Uganda. The Institute’s research is regularly featured in leading international media publications including the Guardian, the Economist, Washington Post, CNN, and BBC.
Other leading organisations that the Institute partners with include Economist Intelligence Unit, World Trade Organisation, Rotary International, World Vision and the Commonwealth Secretariat.
IEP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Contract Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing research projects, preparing winning proposals, and negotiating contracts with a variety of stakeholders.
You will have a background of conducting quantitative and qualitative research in one or more of the fields of social sciences, development studies, statistics, economics, and peace and conflict studies. You will have strong project management experience. You will also have successful track record of winning and executing research consulting projects, ideally with development agencies either through another think tank, academic organisation or as a private contractor.
While a research background is required to do the role effectively, it is essential that the candidate has relevant experience in contracts, consulting, business and/or commercialisation. Academics from a purely research background will not be competitive.
The role offers the opportunity to develop, grow and manage a consulting team with IEP’s Sydney Headquarters.
Location: This position is an in-office role at IEP headquarters, Sydney Australia.
Hours: This is a full time, in office, one day a week working from home, contract position.
