We are recruiting!

We are looking for a research assistant to work across our projects. We have one full-time role for a research assistant, and several other casual positions available. We are looking for the role/s to begin ASAP.

As a Research Assistant, you will provide administrative and research support for existing and new projects. The role involves working remotely, and initially, the position is for 12 months, with the option to extend depending on the continuation of later phases of the project.

You will work closely with the Interplay team, and broader networks particularly First Nations people and organisations across Australia. You will receive on the job training in applied research on projects with real world impacts. You will have opportunities to broaden your networks and develop your career.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • General administration tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of ethics applications, meeting agendas and research reports.
  • Administrative support during stakeholder management - contacting stakeholders and booking interviews or focus groups with participants.
  • Administrative support for focus group sessions - tracking attendance and taking notes.
  • Assist with sourcing documents for literature reviews.
  • Work with the Research Team across several projects providing any necessary support.
  • An ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Confidence in navigating basic computer systems and programs, and learn new programs.
  • Additional responsibilities to learn through the job, or apply if you are already trained include writing academic papers, data analysis and interpretation, knowledge translation, coordinating codesign sessions and evaluating programs.

The ideal candidate will hold:

  • Completion of a degree or an equivalent level of relevant experience
  • High-level organisational skills include prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines, and balancing competing tasks.
  • Experience in research processes and ethics applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to maintain accurate records and be confident in navigating basic computer systems and programs.
