Project Officer - FUSE

intertwine is looking for a Project Officer for a short-term contract (0.1 FTE for 26 weeks). The role will support our delivery of a program for disengaged young people dealing with intersecting systems of discrimination and disadvantage in the Manningham area.

The role would suit someone with project management experience, comfortable delivering training to young people, developing materials and writing up project reports. Ideally the successful applicant will have experience working with young people of colour, young First Nations people and young LGBTIQA+ people.

This position is funded by a Manningham Council Community Grant.

Core responsibilities

  • Participating in course development and feedback
  • Delivering training for the FUSE program as required
  • Liaising with other team members supporting the program to deliver program goals
  • Write project reports and assist with grant acquittal

Key selection criteria

  • Extensive understanding of intersectional feminist theory, critical race theory, the social model of disability and queer theory
  • Commitment to intersectional social justice
  • Experience facilitating workshops and training
  • Experience working with young people
  • Experience in assessing and analysing materials using an intersectional lens
  • Working with Children Check
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary

This position is currently identified as a casual or part-time level 4 or 5 position (depending on experience) under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.

About intertwine

intertwine’s vision is of communities, organisations and services that are inclusive & just, in a participatory society where all people have health, wellbeing, representation & self-determination.

intertwine supports organisations to achieve this vision through assistance in developing and implementing appropriate policies and structures, delivering diversity and consent training and workshops and providing HR support. We also host networking events and communities of practice for organisations working along at least one axis of intersectionality to share ideas, workshop solutions and collaborate so we don’t keep reinventing the wheel.

intertwine is a privately held not-for-profit company registered as a charity with the ACNC. It is registered as a harm prevention charity with the Department of Social Security. The inaugural managing director is Rosanne Bersten, a campaigner and communicator with more than 20 years experience working in media, not-for-profit organisations and progressive political parties. There are currently five other Directors, all of whom have lived experience of intersecting inequality and an Advisory Panel currently comprising six members with lived experience of intersecting inequality.

intertwine has also developed resources for use by not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions, including the intertwine charter, co-designed with marginalised communities, and the Power Wheel, adapted from existing materials through an iterative feedback process.

intertwine has a commitment to employing people with different skills and life experiences.
