Motivation for Change (MFC) is an early intervention program that addresses the significant barriers migrant and refugee men can face when engaging with mainstream family violence services. It combines one on-one case management and group sessions with an understanding of the migration journey, language, culture and faith into the program. It provides a space where men can reflect on their behaviours and share their experiences with facilitators and other participants of a similar cultural background-strengthening their relationships.
The Family Violence Practitioner will provide trauma-informed case management support to persons who use family violence whilst engaged in the MFC Program. They will assess, monitor, plan and manage cases, as well as advocate for services to uphold the safety of victim survivors. Case management support aims to provide opportunities to focus on and highlight physical, psychological and emotional safety for all concerned. Practitioners will also work closely with Group Facilitators and Partner Contact workers to monitor and respond to safety concerns.
You'll be part of a mission-driven organisation that is making a tangible difference in the lives of women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, their families and their communities. inTouch offers a supportive, diverse and dynamic work environment, where innovation, passion and resilience are at the heart of what we do.
