The Health Promotion Team use a population-based preventative approach to address the risk factors and social determinants of health leading to the high burden of chronic disease in the local government areas (LGA’s) of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay and Wyndham, located in Melbourne’s west. We align our strategies that create a healthy, safe and inclusive community.
We aim to understand and address local priorities across a wide range of community settings. Where possible, projects are developed in consultation with the community partners.
This position makes a key contribution to key priorities set out in IPC Health’s Community Health – Health Promotion Plan and will be responsible for implementing projects to reduce vaping and tobacco related harm, along with other local initiatives.
This opportunity is flexible to consider Part Time or Full Time with a minimum commitment of 0.6FTE (3 days). The role is a Fixed Term (Special Project) opportunity for 2 years and is classified as a Social and Community Services Employee Level 4 under the Community Health Centre (Stand Alone Services) Social and Community Service Employees Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.
