A career-defining opportunity to lead IPC Health’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Services Team.

The program’s broad scope includes service offerings in Social Work, Counselling and Psychology Services, AOD Services, Problem Gambling Services, General Financial Counselling Services, Wellbeing Coordination and Initial Needs Assessment.

  • Full Time (1.0FTE) ongoing role.

Classified under the Victorian Stand-Alone Community Health Services (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Officers) Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026 as an Administrative/Management Officer - Grade 6 and above award, salary range starting at $113,214 to $141,542 pa depending on skills and experience plus super.

Tertiary qualified in a relevant health or social services discipline, you will have a strong background of service delivery experience. Additionally, your work history will extend to having significant experience in successfully leading team/s of service providers in delivering health or social services care within a community-based setting.

You will be able to demonstrate commitment and capability in driving high performance, improving efficiencies, and implementing new ways of working to enhance outcomes in the domains of client experience, service quality, and program viability. You will be an enabler of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Services team members to both understand and play their role in actively contributing to the achievement of the organisation’s operational and strategic objectives.

This role will see you take on the challenge and responsibility of ensuring that all programs, and staff, within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Services directorate of IPC Health deliver to their service delivery and budgetary performance objectives. It will require you to think and implement strategically, operationally, and financially with focus on continual improvement and management of underperformance where required. Requisite skills include analysis and identification business improvement opportunities combined with effective change management to leverage and successfully implement these opportunities.

The role reports directly to the General Manager – Operations and Clinical Care. It is very well supported by experienced Team Leaders within the program’s direct organisational structure and by Business Partners in People & Culture, Finance and Quality & Risk. The Manager – Mental Health & Wellbeing Services role is an IPC Health Leadership Team level role that is also supported by a highly engaged peer group of Program Managers.

You will make a difference by:

  • Applying highly effective leadership and management skills to establish a culture of best practice that includes an unwavering commitment to the delivery of high quality care that is person-centred, safe, effective, efficient and that delivers excellence in both client experience and service outcomes.
  • Actively identifying and developing opportunities to enhance the delivery of care and services, implement system and process efficiency improvements, and maximise client engagement and experience measures.
  • Successfully delivering the budgeted financial and service performance objectives of the programs within the Mental Health & Wellbeing Services directorate.
  • Fostering effective and collaborative working relationships a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives of funding bodies, other health services and the broader community.
  • Contributing to, and delivery of, key strategic objectives of the organisation.

To succeed you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications (current) in relevant health or social services discipline along with a strong clinical service delivery background. Additional management &/or business qualification/s would be ideal but are not essential.
  • Highly effective leadership skills, including superior interpersonal and communication skill. This will be demonstrated by your experience in successfully leading teams in a community-based primary health or social services setting.
  • A highly competent and disciplined approach to the management process, including key capabilities in managing competing tasks and deadlines effectively and being comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and change management skills, with an ability to both identify operational drivers for change and also successfully implement identified change opportunities.
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence, and to be ok with regular travel between IPC Health campuses.
